We offer praise to God with song
We have a rich tradition of music at Westminster Presbyterian. We highly value music and celebrate our phenomenal choir made up of all ages and diverse faiths. Music for worship and praise is an important component of our Sunday services, and as a congregation we sing hymns of praise and thanks to God.

Chancel Choir
Our chancel choir sings during Sunday worship. Anyone who enjoys singing is invited to join the chancel choir. They rehearse on Thursday evenings.

Bell Choir
Our hand bell choir usually performs standalone pieces during select worship services, but occasionally they accompany the chancel choir or support hymn singing with the congregation. Our bell choir rehearses on Thursday evenings.

The Westminster Carillon Chimes
The bell tower at Westminster is home to the Westminster Chimes. The chimes are electronic and ring the time throughout the day. At 6 p.m. each evening, the chimes play a short selection of music.

Special Musical Guests
Westminster occasionally hosts musical guests for worship, as well as special events and concerts.

Music Director, Organist, & Choirs Director: Dr. Cara Davis.
​
A native of Wisconsin, Cara holds degrees from the University of Wisconsin and
Liberty University in vocal and keyboard performance and music education and
specializes in incorporating ethnomusicology in choral music education. She
worked for the University of Wisconsin Colleges as a voice teacher and choral
director for sixteen years, offering expertise in growth and outreach. She also
taught music theory, aural skills, music history courses, and piano classes and was
the director for musicals and collaborative performances.
In addition to teaching, Cara has been a lifelong church musician, working as a
principal organist and vocal and handbell director. Handbells is a particular passion,
and she has started numerous handbell programs, including elite community
performance ensembles. Cara was also a representative for Malmark Handbells for
the upper Midwest, giving clinics throughout the region.
Cara is married to Tom, whose career with the Federal Aviation Administration brought them to Kansas City. They have three children: Charlie, Joel, and Larissa. As country kids at heart, Tom and Cara raise chickens and rabbits and share their home with several dogs and cats. They also love to travel and are close to checking off their goal of visiting all 50 states.
